Print Processes Questions

  • What are screen printed lanyards?
    Screen printed lanyards are branded or customised using a screen printing process.

    Screen printed lanyards are best suited to designs with 1-4 solid, or spot, colours and gives a crisp clean finish.

    This process is not suitable for designs with colour gradients, shading or with lots of detailing.
  • What are full colour lanyards?
    Full colour lanyards are branded or customised using a dye sublimation process.

    Full colour lanyards are best suited to designs with lots of colours, colour gradients, shadows or otherwise complex designs.
  • What are heat transfer lanyards?
    Heat transfer lanyards are branded or customised using a dye sublimation process.

    Heat transfer lanyards are best suited to designs with lots of colours, colour gradients, shadows or otherwise complex designs.
  • What are dye sublimation lanyards or dye sub lanyards?
    Dye sublimation lanyards are branded or customised using a dye sublimation process.

    Dye sublimation lanyards are best suited to designs with lots of colours, colour gradients, shadows or otherwise complex designs.
  • What are woven lanyards?
    Woven lanyards are branded using a weaving process where different coloured threads are woven to create the desired design.

    Woven lanyards are best suited to simple block text with 1-2 colours.

    This process is not suitable for designs with more than 2 colours or with complex colour gradients, shadows or other similar features.
  • What are satin applique lanyards?
    Satin applique lanyards are a double layered lanyard that features a branded satin applique layer attached to a coloured base layer.

    The branded satin applique layer can be woven or full colour printed.

Fabric Choices Questions

  • What are polyester lanyards?
    Polyester lanyards are made from polyester fabric. Polyester lanyards are available as either a virgin polyester lanyard and recycled polyester lanyard.
  • What are bamboo lanyards?
    Bamboo lanyards or bamboo fibre lanyards are made from fabric from bamboo fibres.

    Bamboo is both biodegradable and more sustainable than other popular fabrics.
  • What are rPET lanyards?
    rPET lanyards are polyester lanyards made from recycled materials.

    Virgin polyester lanyards are made using PET (polyethylene terephthalate) from non-renewable sources, whereas rPET is simply polyethylene terephthalate made from recyclate such as plastic bottles or other post consumer waste streams.
  • What are bamboo fibre lanyards?
    Bamboo fibre lanyards or bamboo lanyards are made from fabric from bamboo fibres.

    Bamboo is both biodegradable and more sustainable than other popular fabrics.

    A double clip lanyard, or double ended lanyard has a clip on both ends of the lanyard. This is attached to a pass or ID card in two places to ensure it is always front facing so it can be read easily.

    All of our different styles of lanyards can be customised as double clip lanyards.
  • What are conference lanyards?
    A conference lanyard is another name for a double clip lanyard, which has a clip on both ends of the lanyard. This is attached to a pass or ID card in two places to ensure it is always front facing so it can be read easily, making it ideal for conferences where passes are regularly checked.

  • What are trigger clips?
    Metal Trigger Clip

    A metal trigger clip is the standard clip found on all our lanyards and features a loaded lever on the side, which is used to open the snap closure.

  • What are lobster clips?
    Metal Lobster Clip

    A metal lobster clip, so called as it resembles a lobster claw, is a chunkier clip which is opened by pressing directly against the closure.

  • What are dog clips?
    Metal Dog Clip

    A metal dog clip is a lightweight clip which is opened by pressing directly against the closure.

  • What are string clips?
    String Clip

    A string clip features a loop of fabric/string at the end of the lanyard which can then be used to attach a fob, keys, pass or other items.

  • What are crocodile clips?
    Metal Crocodile Clip

    A metal crocodile clip, so called as it resembles the jaws of a crocodile, is a lightweight clip with a loaded closure, opened by pressing together the top ends of the clip.

  • What are mobile device clips?
    String Clip/Mobile Device Clip

    A mobile device clip/string clip features a loop of fabric/string at the end of the lanyard which can then be used to attach a device, fob, keys, pass or other items. Unlike a standard string clip this can be detached from the lanyard by pressing on the release mechanism.

  • What are G clips?
    Metal G Clip

    A metal G clip, so called as it resembles a capital letter G, is a chunkier clip which is opened by pulling/pressing down on the lever.

  • What are plastic clips?
    Plastic Clip

    A plastic clip, available in different sizes, opens much like a metal dog clip when pressure is applied to the closure.

  • What are safety breaks?
    Plastic Safety Break

    A plastic safety break is fitted to the lanyard, at the back of the neck, to eliminate the risk of choking. If the lanyard is pulled with force or trapped the safety break will release.

    Additional safety breaks can be fitted on any of our custom lanyards and are commonly used in the healthcare and education sectors or where machinery is being used.

  • What are quick release buckles?
    Plastic Quick Release Buckle

    A plastic quick release buckle allows a pass, ID card or keys to be easily detached from the end of the lanyard without having to take off the lanyard.

  • What are retractable badge reels/ski reels?
    Retractable Badge Reel/Ski Reel

    A retractable badge reel, or ski reel, feaures an extendable string to which an ID card or fob can be attached. They are commonly used where a card or fob needs to be swiped or held close to a proximity reader.

  • What are keyring loops?
    Metal Keyring Loop

    A metal keyring loop is a circular loop like those found on most keyrings. It allows keys or other small items to be easily attached to the lanyard.

  • Can I add other clips and attachments to my lanyards?
    Our custom lanyards can be further personalised with multiple different clips and/or attachments.
